DECLARATION BY PRESIDENT ELECT ISSA TCHIROMA BAKARY National Day of Mourning Proclamation — Friday, November 21, 2025 Cameroonians, Cameroonians, my dear compatriots, A few days ago, I gave the illegitimate regime 48 hours to process the immediate release of all political prisoners and arbitrary detainees. Meanwhile, only a small number among the thousands of inmates (mostly minors who should never have been there) have been released from cells. I am taking note of it. But this gesture remains very insufficient. It's just a disguise aimed at lulling our population. There are still many, too many in custody, and arrests continue. The regime has chosen to despise this appeal, just as it has despised your votes, your voices, your lives. Since then, I followed you. I have listened. I have been observing. So it is my duty today, to break this silence. I address you with seriousness, solemnity and respect. On October 12, 2025 you have spoken. You choose. And for having dared to defend ...
